Almost two years after the anticipated 6/7/2011 release and with a completely different title than “Love Affair“, The-Dream has finally released his fourth official studio album IV Play. The-Dream always gives us tracks we can get hype to like High Art, tracks that we can sympathize with or relate to like Holy Love and tracks where he just keeps it real with his listeners like Y’all. I think that one of The-Dream’s best songs is Fancy from his second album “Love vs. Money.” It’s a beautiful song, that starts off very serene and builds up to a very powerful finish that leads into the next song. Since then he has always had a similar song on the album. On IV Play the song is Loving You/Crazy. This album is a great addition to The-Dream’s catalog and there are a few tracks that you should absolutely add to your sex music playlist. The-Dream is one of my favorite artists, but I didn’t give him any extra points. He had a great concept for the album and he stuck to it. He had a few more features on the album than usual and that did pull away from the intimacy of the music we are used getting from him, but it didn’t really hinder the album at all. I give this album a solid B+. Make sure you grab this one and if you can, get the deluxe version and take part in the sustenance of sanity that is Psycho. You gotta listen to it now.
