This is really interesting – The homie Mike Stud dropped his latest installment of #SundayStudDay just under an hour ago and it has caused an insane amount of criticism on YouTube. People are enraged that in the description he stated he was being creative yet took the idea of the freestyle from Timeflies, that he organized the balls so it wasn’t actually a freestyle and that he took the hook from Nelly and Drake. In my opinion people need to chill, first off, just because he took baseballs and wrote words on them to freestyle about doesn’t mean he took anything from Timeflies; yes Timeflies became HUGE through doing similar videos but I can guarantee you that it was done before Timeflies ever did the first ‘Timeflies Tuesday‘. Second, just because he took a hook from Nelly and Drake doesn’t mean it wasn’t creative; have you ever thought to put ‘Ride With Me‘ and ‘I’m On One‘ together? Have you ever heard a DJ mash those two songs together? That’s what I thought. Lastly, people are saying that he organized the balls in a specific order so he knew what he was rapping about and therefore it wasn’t a freestyle; While I can see the validity to that point, at the end of the day you just don’t know and I guess the question you have to ask yourself is, do you believe in Mike? I can say that I have had the pleasure of spending some time with Mike on numerous occasions and he is the real deal, he is about as genuine and real as an artist can be these days. I am not going to sit here and ask myself if he actually did freestyle or not because at the end of the day Mike Stud has integrity and cares about his fans. I highly doubt he would lie about something so stupid and insignificant to all the people (fans) who have given him so much support and have helped him have everything he has today. If you disagree or think I am full of shit too, tweet at me and we can hash it out – @SwagSoldSep.
PS – If you don’t think what Kilmer did on the boards on this, making a melody out of Mike’s voice isn’t creative, then you need to check yourself.
